Adventure lovers at the Happy Valley Amusement Park in Beijing were in for a major scare when they were left hanging mid-air for twenty minutes! Their ride was stopped mid-way when a bird was found sitting on the ride's safety sensors. There were 26 riders onboard the roller coaster and it took nearly twenty minutes for the safety personnel to bring them down to safety. The park said in a statement that a bird had landed on the ride's safety sensors which immediately activated the emergency procedure. Because of this, the roller coaster that was moving upward stopped dead in its tracks. While there was no injury reported, the irony in the description of the ride is hard to miss for it says, "the feeling of flying like a bird"!
