Here's a happy 'tail' of a long-lost dog that found his way back home at the hand of a lucky twist of fate. Meet Sammy. A Border Collie, who went missing from home seven years back, has returned to his family. The gorgeous black-and-white pooch had vanished from his Perth residence's front yard, leaving no trails in his wake that could have led to his finding.

No information could be gathered on Sammy's whereabouts in these last seven years. However, his physical condition hinted that he had suffered various abrasions on his body.

Sammy, who's now ten years old, seems happy to be back home with the family he lost. Photographer Kelly Pilgrim-Byrnes chanced upon the pooch who appeared happy and healthy while having his photos clicked.

Reported by Daily Mail, Kelly said, "There was a gentle wisdom that washed over us from Sam during his photo shoot with us at Perth beach. Even with the neglect he suffered at the hands of humans, he didn’t hesitate trotting over to us the second we got out of the car, bum and tail wagging, asking for a pat."

Even though Sammy has lost his sense of sound and is wobbly on his feet, he is still as "charming" as ever. He has gelled in well with his nine-year-old brother Billie and couldn't be happier being home.
