Here's a happy 'tail' of a long-lost dog that found his way back home at the hand of a lucky twist of fate. Meet Sammy. A Border Collie, who went missing from home seven years back, has returned to his family. The gorgeous black-and-white pooch had vanished from his Perth residence's front yard, leaving no trails in his wake that could have led to his finding.

His parents Nikki and Simon were in for a pleasant surprise when they received a call from WISH Animal Rescue informing the couple that their six-month-old lost pup had been found and was residing at Foothills Animal Hospital in Armadale in Perth.

Sammy had been micro-chipped before he vanished and that's what helped the rescue center trace his family.

After Sammy's sad disappearance, Nikki and Simon had brought home another Border Collie, named Billie, whose previous owners couldn't keep him any longer.
