“Don’t Celebrate Valentine’s Day, Worship Your Parents”, Says Ads At Delhi Metro Stations


Valentine’s day in India has always been a controversial topic. On one side, we have couples eager to celebrate the day, and on the other side, we have some political groups injecting ‘sanskaars’ into us.



A religious group, Bal Sanskar Kendra, put billboards at Delhi Metro stations that advocated celebrating Valentine’s Day by worshipping parents.

That’s right! Delhi commuters were in for a surprise on Monday when they noticed these flyers.

This advertisement was put across 35 stations with a message “Matri-Pitri Pujan Diwas.” The advertisement showed 2 contrasting pictures – one where a kid was worshipping his parents and other, where a young couple were holding each other’s ears as a policeman stands nearby.

So, who was behind it? A religious group called ‘Bal Sanskar Kendra’ offered ‘help’ because they wanted the youth to inculcate ‘good values’.

The ‘inspiration’ behind this is supposed to be the self-styled godman Asaram Bapu as his picture looms over the posters.

D N Singh, a member of the Bal Sanskar Kendra told that this is already practised in Chhattisgarh and Delhi should also commence it. He stood his ground and remarked, ”This is our culture.”
