A pamphlet that appears to have been published by the Islamic State's in-house publishing arm, 'Research and Fatwa Department', specifies horrifying guidelines on how to capture and treat female slaves. The 27-point 'document', in a brutally clinical manner, covers topics of capture, sexual abuse and enslavement of a non-believer.
The document was originally published in Arabic and translated by Washington-based Middle East Media Research Institute. While the authenticity of the pamphlet has not been verified, Quilliam researcher Charlie Winter, speaking to The Independent, said, "The roots of this document can easily be traced back to some of Islamic State’s most active propagandists, something that leaves little doubt in my mind about its credibility."
Here are some excerpts from the document.
