Japan has won the contract to build India's first bullet train that will link the cities of Mumbai and Ahmedabad. According to the Indian officials, the two countries will sign a joint statement regarding the deal on Saturday, December 12. Japan earlier had a deal with Taiwan, in 2007, on exporting its bullet train technology.
The fastest passenger train in the world can run at a speed of 603 kilometres per hour. It has a previous record of running at 581 kilometres per hour.
TR-09 has been designed for 500 kilometres per hour voyaging speed but for the safety reasons, the train is run at 450 kilometres per hour.
