This One Image Can Change The Way We View The Indo-Pak Rivalry In Cricket From The World T20 Match


While it was the Virat Kohli powered win against our beloved neighbour that got the cricketing world's attention, we chose to ignore the Indo-Pak women's match at the Feroz Shah Kotla Grounds on the same day. The visitors won the match via Duckworth-Lewis system by a margin of two runs, many people lamented that had the game continued it would have a tighter contest.

But it's not the scoreline or result, that intrigued us the most. It was this image. It is a picture of Pakistan bowler Anam Amin tying Indian batswoman Harmanpreet Kaur’s shoelaces during the match, a token of sportsmanship and grace that both sides need to witness at this time of hostility. Frankly, It means much more to us all than Qandeel Baloch's antics.
