For Lawrence John Ripple, robbing a Kansas bank might have been a crime of passion - he passionately needed to get away from his wife. He didn't actually follow through with the robbery - after handing over a handwritten note demanding cash, and telling the Bank of Labour bank teller he had a gun, he just sat around. He even told the security guard that he was the "Guy he was looking for" . The guard took the money back away from him, and called the cops.
Police arrested him soon after
An FBI agent said that Ripple had argued with his wife earlier, and "no longer wanted to be in that situation".
