Affordable High Speed Fiber Optic Broadband Internet India Andhra Pradesh CM Launches


After Indian Railways announced the availability of high speed WiFi at all major stations, Chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu, launched his AP FiberNet Programme in Vishakapatnam. This resource will be available to both households and businesses. According to sources a 15 mbps connection for a household might cost INR 149 a month while a 100 mbps connection could cost INR 999 a month for a business organisation.

The ambitious project will cost a a whopping INR 333 crores and the government has tied up with private company Cisco to make it happen. Naidu hopes to target 1.3 households in the southern state by the end of July this year. The National Optic Fiber Network implemented by the Central government has considered the Andhra Pradesh Fiber Grid Project as a first of its kind to gauge the market for consumption of internet. According to Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) the number of internet users in the country will most likely hit 371 million by summer this year.
