Move over Samsung phones, it's time for the machines to explode. Samsung is now going to court to clean up the mess its exploding washing machines have been creating. A federal class-action lawsuit against the company alleges that some of its top-loading machines did indeed catch fire. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a warning to owners after the incidents came to light, wherein it expressed concerns over "exploding units". The agency is currently working closely with Samsung to rectify the hazardous situation.

In a statement released by Samsung, the company stated:

"We are in active discussions with the CPSC to address potential safety issues related to certain top-load washing machines manufactured between March 2011 and April 2016."

According to one customer complaint, her machine "exploded with such ferocity that it penetrated the interior wall of her garage." Till now, around 21 consumer complaints have been filed with the CPSC.
