American Parents Got Namaste Banned From A Primary School Offended By Yoga

The benefits of yoga are abundant and for that matter, it’s famous and most sought after across the world. American schools also swear by the implementation of yoga and its effects on the kids. Turns out, one of the schools is having a problem. The administration team at Bullard Elementary School in Kennesaw, Georgia, introduced yoga in their school curriculum. Hoping for a positive response, they faced backlash instead. Turns out, parents were unsatiated with this rule and opted for banning ‘Yoga’. Reason? Because they believed that yoga is a downright encroachment of their non-Christian beliefs and if their children followed it, it would result in a catastrophic result: children turning into non-Christian.

After facing this scene, the principal of the school, Patrice Moore, sent out a full-fledged email to the parents.

In fact, she apologized. This is what she wrote:

I am truly sorry that the mindfulness/ de-stressing practices here at Bullard caused many misconceptions that in turn created a distraction in our school and community. While we have been practicing de-stressing techniques in many classrooms for years, there have been some recent practices associated with mindfulness that are offensive to some.

And this led to the ban of Sanskrit greeting ‘Namaste’ symbol in the school.

The principal made sure that its teachings will not be repeated in the school.

Here is what the parents have to say.

Now we can’t pray in our schools or practice Christianity but they are allowing this Far East mystical religion with crystals and chants to be practiced under the guise of stress release meditation. This is very scary.

How is Yoga related to promulgating non-Christianity? Wasn’t it meant for relieving stress?
