Amputation Is Not The End For Shaktiman, Artificial Leg Leads Him On The Road To Recovery

Shaktiman, the police horse that was beaten mercilessly by a BJP MLA, might have lost his leg but not his spirit to survive. Following the attack that led to Shaktiman's amputation, the horse has been given the gift of a prosthetic limb - an artificial wonder that will help him stand on all fours and trudge forward. But will it make him gallop with the wind? That's a question that needs answering. The horse whisperer Jamie M. Vaughan, a training expert from the US, became Shaktiman's saviour when she swooped in to fix a temporary prosthesis on Shaktiman. The horse may be making a headway with progress, but the road ahead is not getting any easier for him.

Vaughan, who runs an animal shelter in Bhutan, said "Shaktiman has a very long and challenging road ahead, and is still not in the clear, but leaps and bounds better than a couple days ago. Let the prayers and positive vibes continue."

The temporary prosthesis gives Shakitman the chance to stand upright and manage his weight onto it till a permanent prosthesis is fitted. But the main drivers behind Shaktiman's will to fight are the humans that are relentlessly nurturing him, in hopes to offer him the future that he deserves.

Vaughan has been working on Shaktiman for three days straight and has sent the measurements for his permanent limb back to the States.

The miracle worker added, "For anyone who has or is losing faith in humanity, I wish you could see them in action, as the team of people working tirelessly to save this horse is simply amazing."
