Last year, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had been eloquent and direct about how his government wanted to push a law to fight superstition. The murder of rationalist MM Kalburgi, a group of writers and family members of similarly slain freethinkers Narendra Dabholkar and Govind Pansare urged the Chief Minister to proceed with the Karnataka Prevention of Superstitious Practices Bill. Turns out it might be too late - for the CM himself, if media reports are true After footage of a baby crow stubbornly perched on an SUV belonging to the Minister began showing up in local TV channels, an astrologer said that "the gods were turning against the 'non-believer' CM", Asianet News reported. Of course, a sane headed CM security staff picked up the crow, dropped it near the tree, and it was reportedly reunited with its bird kin. According to a report in the Coastal Digest, the government then bought him a shiny new Fortuner SUV.
