Incessant rains continued to batter the city even as the Met department warned that a second low-pressure forming in the Bay of Bengal would hit Hyderabad hard for the next five days.
But their hopes of reprieve proved to be short-lived as experts from Skymet, a private weather forecasting agency, also joined in and said a well-marked low pressure was likely to bring heavy rains.
"Incidentally there is a fresh system, running from northwest India up to the centre of the well-marked low pressure area across Vidarbha and Telangana," said Mahesh Palawat, chief meteorologist, Skymet.
According to the Met department, the city received a cumulative rainfall of 7.6 centimetres since Thursday night prompting chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to order a survey to assess the damages caused by the rains.
Meanwhile there are reports of 13 rain related deaths from both the states. Andhra Pradesh reported four rain-related deaths on Friday which took the toll to nine - six in Guntur district and three in Visakhapatnam.
In Medak district of neighbouring Telangana, four persons were killed and six others injured in separate rain-related incidents.
