Body of raped teen found near UP CMs residence

LUCKNOW: The decomposed body of a class 12 girl, missing for five days, was found early on Monday in the high-security Lohia Path zone, between Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav's official residence and the state DGP's office, shocking the city folk and sending cops into a tizzy. The girl had left for school on February 10 and when she did not return, her parents filed an FIR, police said. The girl was allegedly sexually assaulted. Reports of the murder went viral on social media, prompting Yadav to tweet hat a special task force under DGP Javeed Ahmad had been formed. The post-mortem report confirmed death due to head injury . Injury marks on her naked body also suggested she was brutally raped and sodomised before being killed. Two persons were detained for questioning. The 17-year-old was the daughter of a private construction company employee. The body was found by Deepu, a rickshawpuller, on February 11, who took away the cell phone lying alongside and gave it to his wife in Barabanki, without telling anybody what he had stumbled upon. The cops eventually traced him through the cell phone. Deepu said he and one of his friends had found the girl hanging from a eucalyptus tree from a scarf. When police reached the spot, the body was not there, and it was only after sniffer dogs were brought in that 12 divers pulled out the body from the drain.
