At least 14 passengers were injured in the wee hours on Tuesday, May 12, when a crude bomb exploded inside a compartment of Sealdah-Krishnangar local train near Titagarh station in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district. The blast took place at around 3:55 am in the fifth compartment from the engine of the local train under Eastern Railway's Sealdah Main section.

R N Mahapatra, CPRO Eastern Railway, said the train left Sealdah station at 03:20 AM and reached Titagarh station at 03:55 AM. The blast took place just after a person boarded the train at Titagarh station.
