In a move that will benefit one crore government employees, the Union Cabinet announced a 2.5 times hike in basic pay and pensions under the 7th Pay Commission recommendations. The Union Cabinet on Wednesday accepted the recommendations of the panel headed by Justice A K Mathur which will be implemented from January 1, 2016.
