A Delhi-Based Sweet Shop Files Lawsuit Against SRK For Featuring Their Box Of Sweets In Fan

In 2015 when Chandni Chowk's famous sweet shop Ghantewala shut down, it shattered many hearts. After all his Sohan Halwa and Karachi Halwa were famous all over the country. Even though the shop pulled down its shutters last year, all thanks to SRK’s Fan that people became all nostalgic about the famous ‘Ghantewala’ Mithais. However, this ‘sweetness’ didn’t go down too well with the proprietors of the now defunct sweet shop. While Maneesh Sharma and SRK’s collective efforts were to recreate ‘Dilwalon ki dilli’ for cinema fans, the scene where Shah Rukh’s Gaurav packs a ‘Mithai ka dabba’ from the iconic Ghantewala Sweet Shop for his screen icon Aryan Khanna has caused troubles for SRK. The scene wasn’t in any bad taste and it could have been taken with a positive stride but it’s rather sad that the shop owners instead chose to slap SRK with a legal notice. Reports claim that the shop-owners have filed a lawsuit against Shah Rukh Khan for using their ‘Mithai ka dabba’ and ‘brand name’ without seeking proper permission. The shop owner Sushant Jain is miffed with King Khan because they were not credited in the film. Even though we don’t know where this would head but if SRK willingly agrees to pay monetary compensation, the shop might just get reopened.
