Delhi Police Arrests Woman Who Filed Fake Rape Cases To Extort Money

Delhi police have arrested a 21-year-old woman and her live-in-partner for filing false rape cases. The arrest was made on Monday, two days after the woman filed a complaint against two youth, accusing them of drugging and raping her in a moving car. However police said the allegations were later proven to be false and their motive was to extort money from the two youth who are pursuing their MBA courses from different universities in Australia and India.

The duo had demanded Rs. 10 lakhs from the youths to withdraw the case. The youth had already paid them Rs. 50,000 and secretly filmed the handing over of the remaining Rs. 9.5 lakhs.

Later it was revealed that the couple had earlier used the same tactics to extort money from three youths in east Delhi's Anand Vihar in February after accusing them of gangraping and throwing them out of a moving car.
