Former Gujarat cop DG Vanzara, who spent eight years in prison after being charged with two fake encounters, returned home to a hero's welcome on April 2. He received a warm welcomed by family and friends at the airport and later in the evening supporters held an event at Town Hall, Gandhinagar, to celebrate his return. Vanzara, who arrived in a Mercedes limousine gifted by his son, showed off his silver sword- presented to him by his family, before 'taking on the stage'. Watch DG Vanzara celebrate his homecoming here : Charged with the fake encounter of Ishrat Jahan and Sohrabuddin Sheikh, Vanzara was granted bail in February, 2016, on condition that he would staying out of Gujarat, until a special CBI court granted him permission to return on April 2.
