Facebook And Google Offices Face Flood Risk Thanks To Global Warming

According to forecasts made by a group of scientists, Facebook, Google and Cisco are facing a very real threat of having their offices swept away by water due to sea level rise. The Silicon Valley giants are at a risk of being cut off or even flooded as they sit next to the shorelines. "Facebook is very vulnerable. They built on a very low site. I do not know why they chose to build there. Facebook thinks they can pay enough to protect themselves," said Lindy Lowe, a senior planner at California’s Bay Conservation and Development Commission, to The Guardian.

Facebook's new campus is most at risk as it is located near the San Francisco Bay shoreline.

Similarly, Google and Cisco offices in Mountain View and San Jose respectively, are too at risk but not as much as Facebook. However, should the Antarctic ice sheet melt, the seas will rise up beyond 6 feet and submerge all businesses.
