Facebook Might Soon Help You Make Money From Your Posts Here is How It Will Work

Facebook is considering putting out a feature that allows its users to make money from posts by adding a feature called the "tip jar". Although nothing has been confirmed yet, a Facebook user survey being carried out, hinted at a number of ways users could make money or even promote a cause on the website, and take a cut from the ad revenue Facebook generates from posts, reported The Verge on Thursday. What could this mean for you? "Tipping Jar", to put it in the simplest way possible, will be a feature where your followers/fans can tip you with money. No, you won't be making money from random status updates, but for things like crowd funding for a particular project, or raising funds for a cause, this could be a great option.

Would this feature be available for everyone?

Now, before we all get too excited with this, know that this a possibility that's being explored at the moment. We are still unclear about the nitty-gritties. Until we get to hear more from the horse's mouth, we won't be able to say if the company is making this available for everyone or only for verified users.

What else does the survey say?

The survey also asked its users to show how interested they were in a "call to action" button to let followers make donations and a "sponsor marketplace" to match users with advertisers.

"It is still very early, but we are committed to creating sustainable, long-term monetisation models for our partners and we are listening to feedback," a Facebook spokeswoman was quoted as saying.

YouTube had started a similar revenue sharing program for select users back in 2007. Currently, Twitch, a famous streaming platform for gamers, lets its partners earn revenue via subscriptions and merchandise sales.
