He may have been absent from the limelight for a while, but former pacer Shantakumaran Sreesanth is back and this time he will bat for BJP on Kerala's political pitch. The energetic pacer will be facing a strong challenger in Congress candidate and state health minister VS Sivakumar. Having troubled batsmen with his bouncers, Sreesanth had his Hamlet moment, as he was on the receiving end in an interview with NDTV. While he dodged few questions by repeating his agenda about helping people, the dilemma arose out of a question by the anchor about his chances against a political heavyweight. Sreesanth said that Sivakumar had not done enough, and was quickly faced with a question as to what he thinks that the health minister could have done better, a puzzled Sreesanth simply said, "I don't want to get into it, honestly I will get into it a bit later" Saying that he was a politician now, the anchor asked Sreesanth to list three issues that the Congress candidate should have tackled better, and again a Sreesanth tried to dodge the question saying, "Honestly, I am not trying to be a politician. Yes I am (a politician) but I don't want to be thinking in that 'typical' political way."

When he was completely unable to list the issues, Sreesanth bailed out saying he will talk about them further in the future, as the anchor advised that some "research will be in order". On being asked about Shashi Tharoor's comment about the BJP gifting the seat to Congress by pitching Sreesanth against a strong candidate, Sreesanth said that Shashi Tharoor had good words for him personally and was different politically.
