A 40-year-old man died after he was forced to do sit-ups in the scorching heat by four young men as 'punishment' for bumping into their car. The incident took place at Bowenpally in Secunderabad on Friday. The crime came to light after the victim's body was discovered in the car. The police initially considered it to be case of death due to sunstroke. But chilling details emerged after investigators decided to ascertain why the man had chosen to stay put in the car despite unbearable heat.
As they scanned through footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area, they saw the car parked and the driver being made to do sit-ups.
The footage also shows the accused leaving after snatching away his wallet. Three of the accused have been taken into custody, while the fourth is at large, said the police. At the time of going to press, the identity of the man was yet to be ascertained.
