Giorgio Armani Goes Cruelty-Free Abolishes The Use Of Fur In Their High-End Fashion Lines

Notable fashion brands around the world are taking giant leaps forward in a bid to end cruelty against animals. After SeaWorld, Giorgio Armani has announced that it will no longer use animal fur, starting with its Autumn/Winter 2016 collection. The fashion world's biggest name announced its partnership on Tuesday with Humane Society International (HSI) and The Fur Free Alliance - two organisations that are extremely committed to rooting out the fur trade. Giorgio Armani said in a statement:

"I am pleased to announce that the Armani Group has made a firm commitment to abolish the use of animal fur in its collections. Technological progress made over the years allows us to have valid alternatives at our disposition that render the use of cruel practices unnecessary as regards animals. Pursuing the positive process undertaken long ago, my company is now taking a major step ahead, reflecting our attention to the critical issues of protecting and caring for the environment and animals."

Hopefully, Armani's decision will inspire other brands to follow suit. Last year, Huge Boss dropped fur and Angora Wool from their lines. Other brands doing their bit include Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, and Ralph Lauren.

According to HSI, nearly 75 million animals are currently on fur farms, "enduring lives of unrelenting deprivation". Animals such as rabbits, foxes, raccoon, and minks are subjected to unimaginable horrors of suffering, just to make people look good.
