Police verification is carried out at a later date. Applicant applies online; he or she needs only to attach the Aadhaar number/card as sole address and identity proof. Applicant will get appointment within three days and in another seven, the passport will be processed and dispatched. Aadhaar card has been made mandatory for issuance of passports.

Digital life certificate

The system is called "Jeevan Praman for Pensioners". It should end the process whereby a pensioner has to be physically present to avail pension. Details of pensioner will be accessed digitally by the agency using Aadhaar.
