In A Miracle A Vet Student Saved This Dogs Life Just One Minute Before Its Euthanization

In the biggest miracle ever, a veterinary student saved a dog's life merely a minute before it was due to be euthanised. The dog, which was suffering from paralysis, was about to be put to sleep when the doctor found a tick stuck in his fur - that finally led to his "miraculous" saving and recovery. The 10-year-old pooch named Ollie had been suffering from paralysis ever since he returned from a camping trip. His owner Al found his pet extremely lethargic and weak, and a series of medical tests were conducted to find the reason behind his deteriorating health. However, the tests were non-conclusive, baffling the doctors of DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital in Oregan. Meanwhile, Ollie's condition worsened to the point of complete paralysis. Two weeks later, the family took the most difficult decision ever - to put Ollie to sleep and release him from his misery.

Two weeks later, the family took the most difficult decision ever - to put Ollie to sleep and release him from his misery.

However, a miraculous discovery occurred when Dr Neena Golden - a veterinary student - took to comforting Ollie before he was put to sleep. While doing so she found a tick lodged behind Ollie's ear.

Further diagnosis by Dr Adam Stone of DoveLewis revealed that Ollie was indeed suffering from tick paralysis, a rare condition that he had studied about in school.

Ollie's fur was shaved to check for more ticks. Thankfully, he had none and was soon sent home with his owner, Al.

Ollie began to get better starting that night and in the next few days was back to his happier self.

"He was one minute away from euthanasia. The doctor walked in and remembered that he heard about this in school. He told me it was just one little thing, one slide, and they mentioned it and [that] it was rare, and that was it. He had never seen a case before in his career," Al told ABC News.
