Inspired Because of the Accident Sufferer Whos Final Hope Ended up being To help Contribute The Internal organs, The Whole Town Subscribes Regarding Vision Monetary gift.

On February 16 Harish Nanjappa, a youth from Karegowdanahalli in Karnataka became the victim of a freak accident. While travelling on his bike from his village to Bengaluru he was run over by a truck on National Highway-4. His body was almost split in half and he lost his life in an ambulance which was taking him to a nearby hospital. But the 24-year-old had done something unimaginable and selfless, given the condition that he was in.

Just moment before his death Nanjappa told the paramedic staff in the ambulance that he wanted to donate his organs.

While most of his internal organs were damaged badly, Nanjappa's eyes which were donated to Narayana Nethralaya brought lights to two people's lives.

Taking a cue from Nanjappa's selfless act, his native village gave him a fitting tribute. On Monday, the 13th day ceremony of his death, the entire village came forward and pledged to donate their eyes after death.

“A total of 102 women, 71 men and 9 children volunteered to pledge their eyes,” The New Indian Express quoting Dr Somashekar, medical director of Narayana Nethralaya reported.

"It’s astounding how a man who was split into two and lying on the road was able to think with such clarity. It’s unheard of", Dr Bhujang Shetty, chairman, Narayana Nethralaya also lauded Nanjappa's heroics.

The message which he sent out in his dying moments has also inspired a documentary. Filmmaker Maya Chandra has been working closely with his family and friends in his native village to recapture the last days
