We've all seen excerpts from the Nirbhaya rape case documentary doing the rounds of the Internet over the past few days, and the repercussions have been rather predictable. We took offence. Not because the rape happened but rather, because the documentary was made. The Indian Parliament believes that a documentary such as this should not be released because of violation of permission conditions. Needless to say, it has now been banned. On the bright side, many opposed the Government's move openly today, leading to a heated debate in both Houses of Parliament.
