In August last year, a Pakistan court banned the release of his film Phantom after a plea was filed by JuD chief and Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed against it alleging that the film, set on post-26/11 attacks, contains “filthy propaganda” against him and his outfit. However, turning down all allegations, Khan had cleared his stand saying, “His (Saeed’s) statement says its propaganda against him and Pakistan. By including Pakistan, he’s trying to become the face of Pakistan. My film takes a stand against those behind 26/11 but isn’t negative to the people of Pakistan. He’s trying to put the two together while the film separates the two.” Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Phantom director Kabir Khan, who was in Karachi yesterday had to face a lot of angry protesters at the Karachi International Airport today. Before leaving for Pakistan, an excited Kabir even tweeted about how excited he was about visiting Pakistan. However, it's rather shocking that Kabir was hounded and verbally attacked by a mob today, on April 27, 2016, outside the Karachi International Airport. Kabir Khan was travelling from Karachi to Lahore when he was accosted by a group of angry protesters. He was not just verbally attacked but a few of the protestors abused Khan and started wielding shoes at him. According to a report, it was after Kabir Khan got off his car at the Jinnah International Airport Karachi, that a group of protestors encircled him and started shouting “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Shame Shame”. Sadly, the security officials kept on standing as mute spectators at the premises. A protester also displayed his shoe at him. Here's what Kabir Khan tweeted about the whole fiasco:
