Some keep fasts on particular days, some go without water for days, some even decide to walk barefoot in the scorching heat to prove how much their gods mean to them. But Kanpur's Sudhakar Shukla devotee seems to have taken things a bit too far, as far as devotion goes. This man in the picture is on a fast and has taken samadhi since the 8th of April in the hope of seeing his goddess. He truly says that his goddess will appear before him on the 17th of this month and believes this is the only way to go about it. Sudhakar says,"I’ve taken a ‘Samadhi’ as goddess came into my dream and asked me to do it." Talking about d-day, he says,"17th (April) ko samadhi se nikalenge. Darshan to honge, humein maiyya par vishwas hai.” Which roughly translates to, "I will come out of this trance on the 17th when goddess blesses me with her presence, I have full faith in her." We do not know what he plans to do in case his goddess doesn't show up. Guess we have one day to find out. But one thing is for sure, he has full faith in his devotion and his goddess.
