You would probably leave the tap running while vacationing, or leave the gas on when you’re leaving for work, or lock yourself out of the house. These are the small kinds of mistakes that all of us have experienced personally or second-hand. But a man in Florida has gone a notch up. 37-year-old Michael Blevins shot himself while cleaning a handgun, but did not realize it until 3 days later. He finally realized it 3 days later when he was changing shirts and saw the bullet hole.

Blevins told the Volusia County Sheriff’s deputies that he must have shot himself while cleaning his .22 calibre pistol in an attempt to keep his dog from jumping near him.

Belvins says that as he stood up, his back gave out, and he fell knocking his head on the coffee table.

He said that he heard a gunshot but did not feel any pain, which could have been possible because of the back pain medicines he takes.

He continued with his everyday life and only when he was changing shirts on Saturday did he find the entry and exit wounds.

Talk about forgetfulness.
