One person has been killed and several injured in a knife attack at a railway station near Munich. The suspect reportedly shouted “Allahu Akbar†as he started stabbing passers-by in the town of Grafing, to the south-east of the German city, local media reported. He has since been arrested. Initial reports suggest that the attacker is a German national.
The attack took place in the early hours of Tuesday and most of the victims were commuters on their to work.
German prosecutor confirmed that it was likely an Islamist attack. RT News reported that there was a media blackout on the coverage.
The attack comes amid heightened security across Europe following the terror attacks in Paris last year and the recent gun and bomb attacks in Brussels.
