Microsoft Is Getting Into The Marijuana Business We are So Confused Right Now

Tech giant Microsoft is entering the weed business. Woah, shocking right? Marijuana has always been a taboo subject, especially for corporate business to get associated with, but finally Microsoft seems to have broken the shackles and taken the bold initiative. Many states in the US have legalized marijuana in one way or another but big brands still maintain their distance from this industry because it still is illegal according to the federal government.

Microsoft is building a tracking software for authorities to keep an eye on their marijuana purchases.

Microsoft has announced a partnership to begin offering software that tracks marijuana plants from "seed to sale", as the pot industry puts it. The software is aimed at helping the states that have legalized the medical or recreational use of marijuana to keep tabs on sales and commerce.

But why?

The basic thought behind this new venture is that there will be sophisticated requirements and tools down the road. Microsoft is teaming up with a Los Angeles start-up, Kind, that built the software.

Kind offers an exciting range of products, including ATM-style kiosks for marijuana sales.
