Novak Djokovic Beats Lionel Messi And Usain Bolt Wins Laureus Sportsman Of The Year Award

Novak Djokovic got the better of Lionel Messi and Usain Bolt to to win the 'Sportsman of the Year' trophy for a third time at the Laureus Sports Awards. The 28-year-old had taken top honours in 2012 and 2015.

The Serb won three Grand Slams last year and finished as finalist in the French Open. Djokovic also posted an image on Instagram to celebrate the occasion.

He said it was a proud moment and thanked all those who supported him.

Messi, who had been nominated for a fifth time, once again lost out on the top award.
