On Wednesday, late actress Pratyusha Banerjee’s parents launched a signature campaign for garnering support for a CBI probe into the unnatural death of their daughter. They launched the campaign on Wednesday at 5 pm in Bata Chowk, Jamshedpur and by 8 pm, they had a 1000 signatures supporting the demand. “There is no space left in the banner but people are still putting their signatures on it” – said Mr. Banerjee whose daughter committed suicide on April 1, 2016. Pratyusha’s parents want capital punishment for her boyfriend, Rahul Raj Singh, who, according to them, has murdered Pratyusha in cold blood. It was preceded by an online campaign where 700 signees have already backed the demand for a CBI probe.

“We have lost everything and it is now the people and the media support that could help us meet our demands”

Resolute for justice, Mr. Banerjee explained how much he and his wife, Soma, are relying on the media and the people of the nation and that this is their last resort for justice. The couple was quoted saying, “If it fails to evoke any positive response, we will be left with no choice but to seek Euthanasia.”

Hope such cry for justice from these unfortunate parents do not remain unheard.
