Pratyusha Banerjee's suicide case got a slight twist after Rahul Raj Singh's former girlfriend Saloni Sharma gave her first statement, making some startling revelations. Saloni's name has been doing the rounds ever since Pratyusha's death began taking an ugly turn highlighting the pressures television actresses face including physical assault. Venting her anger over being dragged into the case, Saloni said Pratyusha came between her and Rahul's relationship.

"He started dating her in May 2015 and I only discovered this in July through a few industry friends. When I went to his place to confront him, an inebriated Pratyusha barged in later and told me to get out of their lives. We had a huge argument after which I left them alone."

Pratyusha's parents registered a legal case against her boyfriend Rahul, alleging that he tortured their daughter. Rahul on the other hand has already asked for an anticipatory bail. According to Bollywood Life, Saloni said Pratyusha was the "other woman" in Rahul's life.

"I knew Rahul for five years. I want to ask people the definition of the 'other woman'. As per my understanding, when two people are in a happy relationship and someone comes in due to which they drift apart, then he or she is the 'other' person. By this definition, she was the other woman and a willing one because she was aware of my presence in his life. Honestly, I do not wish to speak badly about someone who is no more. It's just not my upbringing. The fact is she knew him for 10 months while I knew him for five years. During this period, we opened two event management firms wherein I put in Rs 30 lakhs. They ran into losses and I took loans from banks to fund them. Three years later, I am trying to pay off the debts. In May, they began dating. Both of them hid that fact from me and they embarked on a relationship."

She further recalled the day she confronted Pratyusha.

"People in the industry told me that your guy is being spotted with the Balika Vadhu actress and you should confront him. I went to his former residence, he told me that they were just good friends and I was unduly worried. Just then, the bell rang in and a drunk Pratyusha walked in. She was like, 'Oh good, you are here. I am marrying Rahul. You leave him and the company. I was telling him to inform you about us'. I argued and left as I felt totally humiliated. The next day, Rahul called me and said that she was drunk and that I should not believe her claims. I was also in denial. This happened right upto her birthday in August, when he threw a gala bash for her. It was their way of coming out in the open. They also spoke of their marriage plans. I saw it on TV and was shocked and stunned. The next day I went to their house but Rahul had instructed the watchman not to let me in."

Rahul supposedly called Saloni the very next day, clearing the issues and requested her to ignore Pratyusha as they were 'just friends'.
