Romance Still Alive For Canadian PM Justin Trudeau Will Take Day Off To Celebrate Anniversary

In Japan to attend the G7 summit, Canadian premier Justin Trudeau will take a day off to celebrate his wedding anniversary in a bid to promote "work-life balance". Justin told reporters that ahead of the G7 talks with world leaders, he will be taking a personal day to spend with his wife, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau. While speaking to the media, he said, "This is the kind of work-life balance that I've often talked about as being essential in order to be able to be in service of the country."

Clearly romance is alive and budding for the Canadian prime minister. The couple, who'll be celebrating their 11th year of togetherness, said that they would be relying on "personal funds" to usher in their special day.

Justin's effort to keep the work-life balance alive is shared by many world leaders. Mark Zuckerberg demonstrated it by taking 2-months off for paternity leave when his daughter Max was born. Google's ex-CFO, Patrick Pichette decided to travel the world before it was too late.

In an interview with CBC last year, Trudeau had said,

"If I'm left to my own devices I'll work all the time, and I'll go home with briefing books and go through them all the time. And Sophie says, 'No, no, no, no, no, you've got to spend some time with the kids so you can make sense of everything else you do.' And she of course is right, and that's why I am the luckiest man in the world."

And these are examples that constantly remind Gen Y to slow down and take a breath. "Take personal time off". "Spend time travelling". These aren't just jargon. They are a way to live a holistic life, interspersed with moments of responsibility and recreation. And if Trudeau can do it, so can you!
