Fans around the world are deeply saddened by designer Eric Medalle' sudden demise. The Pokemon creative design director was driving through a storm in Seattle when, in a freak accident, a tree fell over his car and claimed his life. Eric (42) was taking his daughter on a drive near a park when high winds caused a Douglas fir tree to fall over Eric's car. While he died on the spot, his daughter was rescued from the backseat and taken to Harborview Medical Center. Eric had been associated with the Pokemon company since 2003, where he worked on many projects such as Pokémon Omega Ruby and the Alpha Sapphire game series. He was also the artist behind the Pokemon Trading Figure game and logos for other trading card series. Eric is now survived by his wife Carrie and two young daughters. May he rest in peace.
