Sania Mirza-Martina Hingis record 38th straight win, storm into St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy semis

After a shock exit at the French Open, Mirza and Hingis have captured three Grand Slams on the trot. Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis on Friday took another step towards conquering the record for most consecutive wins in women's doubles. The Sania-Martina duo beat unseeded Russian pair of Daria Kasatkina and Elena Vesnina 6-4, 6-1 in the quarter-finals of the St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy. On Saturday, the number one seeds will battle it out against Spaniards Anabel Medina Garrigez and Arrantxa Parra Santonja for a spot in the final. The quarter-final clash lasted for just over an hour, as the Russians were no match for the in-form 'SanTina' pair. The 2016 Australian Open champions beat Jelena Ostapenko (Latvia) and Evgeniya Rodina (Russia) 7-5, 7-5 in their last match. Sania and Martina have now won 38 matches on the trot and are just 7 away from equaling the all-time record of 44 set by Jana Novotna and Helena Sukova in 1990. Ever since teaming up last year, they have taken the WTA circuit by storm with their dominating performances.
