Serena Williams Lashes Out At Indian Wells Boss For His Sexist Remark Against Women Tennis Players

World No. 1 Serena Williams ripped into Indian Wells director Raymond Moore for his 'offensive' remarks. Moore said women's tennis was riding on the coattails of the men's game. He claimed that women should 'go down on their knees' and thank the men for making tennis popular. In what hardly came as a surprise, Serena's reply to the 69-year-old was scathing. She said such comments were uncalled for and felt no woman had the need to go on her knees to thank anyone.

She added that there were many who watched the game for woman players especially her and her sister Venus.

The 21-time Grand Slam winner lost to Victoria Azarenka in the women's final.

Moore issued an apology later on saying that he was sorry for his comments.

Current ATP World No 1, Novak Djokovic said that the comments were not politically correct but maybe the whole incident was exaggerated a little.
