Prime Minister Narendra Modi scrapped the Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes from November 8 midnight making the existing currency absolutely useless. However, one can go and exchange it in banks and post offices for new currency. In addition, the government also declared that cash deposits above Rs 2.5 lakh will be scrutinised and 200 per cent penalty will be levied in case of a mismatch in income.

The news must have hit those hard who have black money stashed in the corners of their homes and because they don’t see a way out of this, they have no option but to discard it.
