The Flying Bottom Airlander 10 Is The Largest Civilian Aircraft

The world's largest aircraft is ready to fly the skies in a few months but it has already got people excited with its curvaceous rear. Airlander 10 is a brilliant crossover between a plane, an airship, a hoverboard, and a helicopter. It was first developed for the US government as a surveillance aircraft but the plan fell through and it was never used for its intended purpose.

Later, British manufacturing firm Hybrid Air Vehicles launched a campaign to bring back the aircraft - it was then assembled in a First World War hangar in Bedfordshire.

And now that the fins and engines have been attached to the giant ship, Airlander 10 is ready to go on its debut flight later this year, after it successfully clears remaining ground tests.

The £80-million aircraft is so huge, it's literally the length of a football field and as high as six double-decker buses rolled into one. With a capability to stay airborne for two weeks, the plane can also take-off and land vertically thereby completely eliminating the need for a tarmac runway.
