Humans, now it seems, have become perfectly immune to the plight of animals, as long as it feeds their own need for self-gratification. After the incidents that snubbed the life out of dolphins and peacocks, another episode has come to light where a Bulgarian woman has managed to kill a swan. All for a damned photograph. After dragging the swan out of its natural habitat and posing for a photograph with it, the female tourist abandoned the bird which later died on the beach. The incident happened on the beach of Lake Ohrid in Macedonia.

This photograph shows how mercilessly the woman grabs the bird's wing and tugs it out onto the beach.

And with each picture, the scene gets more and more horrifying.

Beach-goers witnessed that the bird didn't react to the woman approaching it as swans are used to tourists flocking the beach. However, soon they found the bird lying motionless on the beach after the tourist had left her to die.

It is shameful the way the woman smiled and treated the bird. Really now, how many more animals have to die for our photo albums?
