Two Women In Haryana Gangraped By Local Gau-Rakshak Dal As Punishment For Eating Beef

One of the two women who were gang raped in Mewat, Haryana two weeks ago broke her silence. The woman claimed that they were raped because of beef consumption. The attackers who broke into their house said that they were being punished for eating beef. The victim narrated her case in the presence of Shabnam Hashmi, an activist from New Delhi. All four men are known for their uncouth behaviour in the village. They are often caught drinking, abusing other people, and creating a ruckus. Even on the day of that incident, all four were seen drinking.

Later that day, they broke into their house and raped a 20-year-old woman along with her 14-year-old cousin. The family members in the house were beaten to death afterwards.

According to the locals, these men belonged to a “Gau-Rakshak” dal and were operating locally. They are now under police custody and booked for rape and trespass. Charges for murder were also lodged against them.

Right now, there's a lot of tension in Mewat due to frequent incidents of cow vigilante groups attacking suspected cattle smugglers.
