A British make-up artist who wanted to join ISIS has been sent to jail for four and a half years for spreading its propaganda. 32-year-old Zafreen Khadam had set up 14 Twitter accounts and was sharing messages about IS activities, creating new accounts as soon as others were shut down because of their content.

Investigators said she had posted over 20,000 tweets in support of the terror group including graphic images and videos.

In 2015, Khadam told her friends that she wanted to travel to Syria to join the ISIS and marry Mohammed Emwazi, the masked Brit, who became the face of ISIS's executions under his pseudo name Jihadi John, who was killed in a drone strike later that year.

The court found her guilty on ten counts of supporting and spreading terror propaganda. It also rejected her defence that sending the messages and sharing images and videos were a form of research.
