You Won’t See CSK & Rajasthan Royals Play For The Next 2 Years. Owners Banned For Life.

Cricket is a religion in out country and IPL took that religion a step ahead. The league has been very successful from past 7 years and has generated massive fan following across the nation for various teams. But this news might shock a lot of fans.

Former BCCI president N Srinivasan’s son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan and Rajasthan Royals’ co-owner Raj Kundra got banned for life from involvement in any cricket conducted by BCCI.
The Justice R.M. Lodha panel came down heavily on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) by suspending both the teams for two years.

“Meiyappan was involved in betting and tarnished the game”, said Justice Lodha. The panel revealed that Meiyappan had suffered a loss of Rs 60 lakh while betting on IPL matches in 2013 season.

However, there was no allegation of match-fixing against Kundra, he was also found guilty of betting and hurting the image of the game. “Rajasthan Royals were found to have damaged the faith of BCCI”, said Justice Lodha.

I have no clue how CSK and Rajasthan Royals’ fans will react to this. Well, I would advice to have patience and settle for their second favourite team for the coming two years (unless it’s the other team that got banned).
