At a time when most of “us” seem to be swayed away by the western television series, there lies another distinctive group who swear by the Hindi daily series. In fact, compared to the magnanimous amount of people who love their Hindi daily serials, we, who swear by our Game of Thrones and Castle, simply stand nowhere. But don’t you think that those serials are sheer mindless crap and nothing else which propounds patriarchy and imposes a false, and sometimes even utopic, portrayal of the society? Here we have got a few reasons which are well enough to convince the government to ban these serials—

3. No More Tears Please

Earlier, television series were thought of as a source of sheer entertainment. But, don’t you think nowadays they have just come out as mere tear machines more than anything else? No matter which teleseries you start, inevitably always you’ll find some person (and, women it is always for men don’t cry) or the other shedding tears over some issue or the other. And, the best part is, they cry when they’re happy, when they’re sad or even when they are bored and have nothing to do to irritate others.

2. The Stereotype Spreading Machine

Yes, they are nothing but stereotype propounding machines. Thanks to them, most of the Indians understand that South Indians are never modern, Bengalis cannot speak Hindi and wear Sari in their own typical way, Gujaratis are always about Dhokla and Thepla, Marathis are always middle class and Punjabis are the all about food—and these are only to say the least.
