He can't help you get some cash out of the in-station ATMs either because they just don't exist! According to Ministry of Railways (MoR) out of almost 7,000 (approx.) big and small railway stations across the country, mere 1287 stations have ATMs service available which accounts for only 18 percent of the railway stations.

In a question asked in Loksabha in December last year on whether the government proposes to publish a list of stations having ATMs on the Railway’s website for the information of general public, the minister admitted that all the zones didn't even have the list of ATMs on websites of respective zones.

"While there is no specific proposal at present, some zonal railways are, in fact, already displaying the list of stations having ATMs on their respective official websites,” answered Manoj Sinha, the ministry of state in the ministry of Railways in Parliament during winter session.
