Before the "deeply in love" couple were gunned down by Islamist shooter Omar Mateen - they were set to marry soon - now they'll have a joint funeral service, their families. Juan Ramon Guerrero, 22, and his 32-year-old boyfriend, Christopher “Drew” Leinonen will rest in peace, side by side Guerrero’s father told Time magazine. “I think my son wanted to do that. That’s why,” the elder Juan Ramon Guerrero, 61, said through tears. “I don’t care what the people think. I don’t care.”

The couple had dated for 2 years, and Guerrero's family was “really loving and accepting” of their son's sexual orientation.

“They were honestly so in love. They were soul mates. You can tell by how they looked at each other,” she said. “It’s a little comforting that they died together.”

Guerrero had finished his first year at University of Central Florida after 2 years of community college, studying to be a financial advisor,

“He was so much love and light,” Aryam Guerrero said.
